The photoionization of excited hydrogen atom in plasmas

چکیده
a r t i c l e i n f o a b s t r a c t The photoionization processes of excited hydrogen atoms in plasma environments are investigated using the method of complex coordinate rotation. The standard Debye–Hückel model and modified Debye– Hückel model are adopted to describe the plasma screening effects. The photoionization cross sections of plasma-embedded excited hydrogen atoms varied with different screening lengths are displayed to illustrate the influence of plasma screening. The results of the Debye–Hückel model compared with the modified Debye–Hückel are presented. The shape resonances and Cooper minima due to the plasma screening are observed and discussed.

Quantization of electromagnetic fields in the presence of a spherical semiconductor quantum dot and spontaneous decay of an excited atom doped in this nanostructure
In this paper we consider electromagnetic field quantization in the presence of a dispersive and absorbing semiconductor quantum dot. By using macroscopic approach and Green's function method, quantization of electromagnetic field is investigated. Interaction of a two-level atom , which is doped in a semiconductor quantum dot, with the quantized field is considered and its spontaneous emission ...
متن کاملPlasma screening within Rydberg atoms in circular states
A Rydberg atom embedded in a plasma can experience penetration by slowly moving electrons within its volume. The original pure Coulomb potential must now be replaced by a screened Coulomb potential which contains either a screening length Rs or a screening factor A = R −1 s . For any given discrete energy level, there is a Critical Screening Factor (CSF) Ac beyond which the energy level disappe...
متن کاملOne- and two-photon ionization of hydrogen atom embedded in Debye plasmas
We present a detailed analysis of the plasma-induced resonance-like atomic structures near the ionization threshold in oneand two-photon ionization of hydrogen atom. Such resonance-like structures result from the migration of the upper bound excited states of bound-bound atomic transitions into the continuum due to the less attractive screened Coulomb potential which simulates the external envi...
متن کاملRecombination spectra of Helium - Like Ions M . A . Bautista and T . R . Kallman
We calculate the recombination spectra of the He-also account for the effects of lowering of the continuum at high densities and high density corrections to dielectronic recombination. From the populations of all levels in the recombined ions we construct models for He-like ions for fast computation of their spectra. Every model includes 29 bound levels up to n=5, a pair of " superlevels " whic...
متن کاملAdiabatic stabilization of a circular state: theory compared to experiment
The probability that an atom of hydrogen, initially in the 5g(m = 4) state, survives a 90-fs pulse of 620 nm wavelength is calculated both by direct integration of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation and by a Floquet calculation. The two methods give virtually identical results. The survival probability calculated for a one-electron model of neon, for the same initial state, pulse duration ...
